Thesis Statements

The first paragraph of a composition contains a thesis statement, which presents the main idea. The remaining paragraphs each have a single focus expressed in a topic sentences that develops the thesis statement.

It should contain the general idea you will talk about and the specific aspect you will focus on.


My best friend Eva and I are different in many ways, be we have one important thing in common - we love to travel.


Now write a thesis statement about one of the following ideas.

• Your favorite food
• The best or worst vacation you have had
• What you would change if you could go back in time
• Why you would be the best president of Mexico
  

Prepostional Phrases

Look at the picture and write prepositional phrases to describe where certain things are. Make sure to write complete sentences, do not write fragmenst.

Nursery Rhymes

Go to this page and read one of the many nursery rhymes.

1st Choose one nursery rhyme and copy and paste it as your comment.

2nd Write how many stanzas it has, which words rhyme and what it is about.

3rd Write about what it means to you and what you think it was written.

Act 5

Si ce we won't have enough time to finish act 5 in class, we are going to do it online.
We are going to follow specific steps so read the instructions and follow them.

1st. Write a proposal of what should happen in act 5.
2nd. According to your proposal, write a brief description of the setting or background.
3rd. Write an excerpt of what some characters might say.

Nothing Yet

Due to the fact that we are starting our play this week, we don't need to post anything so you can relax until Wednesday.

What's next

Okay, we're going to start writing our real play this week. So what I would like you to start doing is to realisitically think about what it is you would really like to do. We know this so far:

1. It's located in an abandonned cemetery with a lake nearby
2. It's going to be a horror type of play
3. It is going to have around 8 characters

So now we need to really focus on what it is we're going to do.

Everyone please write two ideas you would like to have incorporated in the play.

Music Lover

I imagine all of you like music so this week we're going to work with music and interpreting it.

1st Find a song that is significant to you because of its lyrics, it can be in English or Spanish.

2nd Look for the song on YouTube and write the link or imbed it on the blog so everyone can listen to it.

3rd Write a 4-sentence paragraph explaining what this song means to you and what do its lyrics say. You must interpret the song, don't tell me what it says, tell me what it means, how the lyrics make you feel or think.
